Prof. Amanda Lynch FTSE is interested in the intersections between climate science research and concrete problems of policy relevance. Her approaches have included climate model development, weather simulation and analysis, and public policy studies. The relevance of her work to policy applications was demonstrated by her invitation to join the Society for Policy Sciences. Lynch has a significant history of science leadership in Australian and the United States, including membership of several U.S. National Academy of Science and Australian Academy of Science boards and committees, chairship of the U.S. National Science Foundation Office of Polar Programs Advisory Committee, membership of the ANU Climate Chnage Institute Board and chairship of a climate foresighting group for the Office of the Chief Scientist.
