Caroline Sullivan

Associate Professsor of Environmental Economics and Policy, Southern Cross University, NSW Australia, and
Senior Research Fellow, Oxford University, School of Geography and the Environment, Oxford UK

Dr Caroline Sullivan is an environmental economist who has worked in international water research for over 12 years. She has worked on interdisciplinary water projects in several countries in Africa, the Americas, Europe and Asia. She is particularly interested in the relation between water and human wellbeing, and ways to maximise this in an equitable manner. She has worked on water resource assessment, transboundary water management, dams and development, integrated catchment management, water and sanitation, IWRM and adaptive water governance1, and the linkages between water and climate. She has been instrumental in developing integrated tools such as the Water Poverty Index, the Climate Vulnerability Index, and the Transboundary Analytical Framework, which she developed while at the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology, where she worked as Head of Water Policy and Management for eight years.
