Richard Tooth
Dr Richard Tooth is a consulting principal with the Sydney office of LECG Limited. Dr Tooth has consulted and written extensively on economic policy issues. His range of expertise includes regulatory and competition policy, network economics, consumer behaviour and applied econometrics. While he has experience across a range of industries, he has particular expertise with regards to water, natural resources, insurance, and other financial services. His recent work in the water industry includes looking at issues related to estimating the demand for water, cost benefit analysis of water quality, developer charges for water infrastructure, scarcity pricing of water and models for urban water competition. He frequently presents and holds workshops at water industry conferences on issues such as urban water reform and urban water pricing.
Prior to joining the LECG, Dr Tooth worked on economic regulation and policy issues with the economic consultancies, Allen Consulting Group, and the Centre for Law and Economics Ltd. He also worked with the strategy consulting firm, Booz Allen and Hamilton and has worked directly in private and government organisations. He holds a PhD in economics from the University of New South Wales, an MBA from the University of Victoria, Canada and a BSc from the University of Tasmania.
